On the occasion of the 761-th anniversary of Lviv city on May 5, the City Council held a solemn meeting with government officials, clergy, scientists, public and cultural figures and residents. By tradition, the mayor awarded people who demonstrated commitment to Ukraine and showed patriotism, humanity and pro-active attitude with the Medal of St. George.
In particular, the award was presented to Roman Velykyi - military chaplain, prior  of the VIrgin Mercy Church located on the territory of Lviv State University of Life Safety.   The Medal was given for genuine missionary work, support and strengthening the spirit of Ukrainian soldiers in the days of the struggle for freedom and unity of Ukraine.
