As part of the "Days of Civil Protection" representatives of Lviv State University of Life Safety prepared and performed a series of training and familiarization activities in secondary schools of Shevchenkivskyi and Sykhiv districts. During the theoretical part of the training Associate Professor Vasyl Popovych made a speech to the principals of the schools.

On March 23 within the Civil Protection Days a demonstration classes for students, teachers and staff of secondary schools of Shevchenko District took place at Lviv School # 23. Representatives of Lviv State University of Life Safety held studies conducted on fire extinguishers, their classification, structure and features. Cadets demonstrated extinguishers in work on the model fire. In addition, the pupils were able to check the effectiveness of modern RPE, which are in service in SES of Ukraine. After all a training evacuation from the school building was performed.

On March 17 the final of the All-Ukrainian Student Research Contest 2016-2017 in the specialty "Project Management" took place at the University of Economics and Law "Krok" (Kyiv). The members of sectoral competition commission, including University professor Oleg Zachko, previously reviewed scientific works and chose 16 among 52 to participate in the final scientific conference.

From March 16 till March 18, 2017, the Ukrainian Sambo Cup for men and women took place in Lutsk. It was one of the main stages of selection to the national team which will take part in the European Championships (Minsk, Belarus) in May.

Athletes from our University also participated in this competition. The best result was shown by a student of the 3rd year (Educational and Scientific Institute of Fire and Technological Safety) Petro Davydenko. He took the 1-st place in the weight category up to 90 kg and was awarded with the gold medal.

On March 16 а special visual aid room, dedicated to 203-rd anniversary of Taras Shevchenko's birth was organized by the Department of Ukrainian Studies. In the introductive speech lecturer Halyna Hlypavka stressed that Shevchenko is considered as the father of the nation, as he remembered  Ukrainians about their glorious history, awakened sense of national dignity in their minds and that led our people to the state. According to Shevchenko Prize laureate Ivan Malkovych, Shevchenko's "Kobzar", always was and  still remains a Constitution for Ukrainian People.
