Within the program of the discipline "Fire, engineering and rescue equipment" practical trainings with cadets and students of the 2nd year of study started in the territory of LSU LS training polygon. Scientific and pedagogical staff of the vehicle operation and fire-rescue vehicles conducted practical session on "Technical operation of hydraulic and pneumatic rescue equipment" where cadets and students got acquainted with the structure and the rules of operation using hydraulic rescue equipment and pneumatic jacks firm («Holmatro»). 

On February 21 we celebrate the International Mothertongue Day. On February 21, 2017 a special action "A BOOK FOR A FRIEND" started. The action aims to provide schools in Luhansk and Donetsk regions with Ukrainian-speaking literature. Lviv State University of Life Safety joined the project and collected about half a thousand books for children enrolled in the east. Cadets and students collected books in Ukrainian, which then will be donated to schools in Luhansk and Donetsk regions to promote the Ukrainian language in the eastern region.

On  March 5 cadets' and students' graduation took place at Higher Vocational College (Vinnytsya) of LSU LS.

On February 28 44 cadets of the 3rd year of study passed the swimming test in the indoor pool (at «SKA» sports complex). The aim of the test was to select the candidates for participation in a special training session. The session considers preparation of lifeguard swimmers. The event was organized and held by the Department of Fire Tactics and Rescue Operations.

During the test cadets have to swim 50 m in 50 seconds. Due to the Protocol, 26 cadets passed the test successfully.

Veterans Council of Lviv State University of Life Safety took the second place in the competition among veterans' organizations and in 2016. Ukrainian Association of War and Civil Protection Veterans awarded our Veterans Council with the Diploma of the 2nd degree for active work to enhance the role of veteran movement and for participation in national patriotic, spiritual, moral, cultural and aesthetic education of the younger generation. It is necessary to note that the Rectorate conducts purposeful work with veterans and retirees.
