EU-CHEM-REACT 2 PROJECT:

Full title: “Improving measures to prevent and respond to chemical disasters and natural disasters that affect participating countries through a series of exercises to test and strengthen national capacity using the Joint Civil Protection and International Cooperation Mechanism - EU- CHEM-REACT 2 ».

Purpose, tasks, purpose, result:
The main goal of the EU-CHEM-REACT 2 project is to improve measures to prevent and ensure preparedness for responding to man-made and natural emergencies that simultaneously affect countries with a common border, by conducting a series of exercises to strengthen each country's national capacity and improve synergies. involvement of the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM).
The project includes a consortium of government organizations, industry, civic associations, voluntary fire and rescue units, educational institutions in Belarus, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland and Ukraine, as well as international organizations such as the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) will hold a series of training events, conferences and seminars to promote the development and accumulation of knowledge, as well as the implementation and application of the world's best practices in responding to man-made and natural emergencies. The project identifies three main activities: classroom command and training exercises (TTX) in the Republic of Belarus, post-command post-staff exercises in the Republic of Moldova (CPX) and full-scale practical field exercises (FX) in Ukraine, namely in the border areas of Lviv region.
Based on the results of the project tasks, recommendations will be developed to amend or improve the legal framework and legislation of the participating countries, which would clearly define the interaction of national civil protection systems of Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus with the European Civil Protection Mechanism.
An important result of this project will also be the provision of international technical assistance in the form of procurement of fire and rescue equipment, special equipment and other valuables, as well as training a group of experts and instructors in Ukraine for effective cooperation with EU countries and their institutions. EU protection.
Participation in the international project "Improving measures to prevent and prepare for the response to chemical disasters and natural disasters that affect the participating countries, through a series of exercises to test and strengthen national capacity using a joint mechanism of civil protection and international cooperation - EU -CHEM-REACT 2 ", will help deepen cross-border cooperation between Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus and EU countries in the field of civil protection, will work out the order of cooperation in preventing and responding to possible man-made emergencies in the border regions of Ukraine, Poland, Moldova, Belarus, the Czech Republic and Lithuania.

Within the framework of the EU-CHEM-REACT 2 project in 2019, events were held with the participation of representatives of the Lviv State University of Life Safety, namely:
training course at the International Center for Chemical Protection and Safety in Warsaw (July 2019);
conference on planning and preparation for command and staff exercises (October 2019);
study visit to the University of Civil Defense of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Republic of Belarus, classroom command and staff exercises (October 2019);
consultative session of the heads of organizations implementing the EU-CHEM-REACT 2 projects (November 2020);
coordination meeting in the Republic of Moldova (December - 2019);
In 2020, the following international events took place within the framework of the EU-CHEM-REACT 2 project, in which representatives of the Lviv State University of Life Safety took part, namely:
study visit to the General Inspectorate for Emergencies of Moldova, the second stage of command and staff exercises (March 2020);
the first session of the preparatory online conference on planning and conducting field exercises (July 2020);
second session of the preparatory online conference on planning and conducting field exercises (September 2020);
In 2021, the following international events took place within the framework of the EU-CHEM-REACT 2 project, in which representatives of the Lviv State University of Life Safety took part, namely:
third session of the preparatory online conference on planning and conducting field exercises (March 2021);
