"Safe water - improving the activities of authorities and emergency services in response to the risks associated with water resources in the Lviv region"

SAFE WATER - improvement of local administration and rescue services activities during water emergencies response in Lviv regionIn 2015, Lviv State University of Life Safety together with the Main School of Fire Service of Warsaw successfully implemented the project "Safe Water - Improving the Activities of Authorities and Emergency Services in Response to Risks Related to Water Resources in Lviv Region" under the program "Polish Aid ”, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland. The aim of the project was to get acquainted with the water rescue system in the Republic of Poland and to improve the system of rescue organization on water bodies of Lviv region.
As part of the project, seminars, a scientific-practical conference on project issues and specialized theoretical and practical training were held.

On April 16, 2015, an international seminar was held at the Lviv State University of Life Safety, attended by representatives of the Lviv State University of Life Safety, the Main School of the Polish State Fire Service, Lviv Regional Administration and City Council, SES in Lviv region.

On June 8-12, 2015, theoretical and practical exercises took place in the city of Warsaw, Poland. The training was conducted in two stages: theoretical - from 8 to 10 June 2015. On the basis of the Main School of Fire Service in Warsaw and practical - from 11 to 12 June 2015? on Lake Zhegzhinsky. During the theoretical exercises, participants had the opportunity to learn about the main threats to the waters (including environmental, epidemiological and infrastructural), the water rescue system in the Republic of Poland, as well as the features of first aid.

On October 15, 2015, at the Lviv State University of Life Safety, as part of the project, the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Water Safety Management" was held. Representatives of the Lviv State University of Life Safety, the Main School of the Polish Fire Service in Warsaw, the UkrNDICZ and the State Emergency Service of the Lviv Region and the Lviv City Council took part in its work. The participants of the conference discussed the peculiarities of the city's civil protection system in terms of preventing emergencies on the water, environmental safety, cooperation between local governments and non-governmental organizations in the field of water safety and more. In addition, modern rescue equipment was donated within the framework of the LSU lS project.

Improving the level of life safety in the city of Lviv, with special emphasis on school-age children "

Increasing the safety level of the civilian population of Lviv, with a particular focus on adolescents.

On October 26, 2015, the Lviv State University of Life Safety and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kyiv signed an Agreement on the Małych grantów competition funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.

Level of life safety in the city of Lviv, with special emphasis on school-age children. "The main goal of the project was the practical and theoretical training of firefighters when working on construction sites, assessing the state of threats, extinguishing fires indoors.

 

Theoretical and practical trainings were also conducted for 60 high school students, the main purpose of which was to teach teenagers the rules of fire safety and priority actions in case of fires.

During the project implementation: preparation of materials for a theoretical training course on the actions of firefighters in rescue operations in case of emergencies at construction sites and firefighting in enclosed spaces; two-day practical training of the presented material, for a group of 40 firefighters, using a mobile simulator - a special simulator ML 2000, equipped with modern training equipment that can simulate a fire as close as possible to the real thing.

 

From 15 to 16 December 2015 at the Lviv State University of Life Safety was conducted theoretical and practical training with high school students, which included familiarization with the rules of evacuation from buildings, use of firefighting equipment (fire extinguishers) and principles of first aid.

As part of the project, Lviv State University of Life Safety received as a gift from EGERIA LLC firefighter helmets - 54 pieces, and fire simulators - 3 pieces.
