Polish aid
The Polish Aid Program is implemented under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland and is the main tool for cooperation with developing countries.
In 2002, Poland, like all UN member states, signed the Millennium Political Declaration and Action Plan to address global economic, social and humanitarian issues. In particular, one of the priority issues is to improve the situation of people living in extreme poverty and fight hunger, ensure universal access to primary education, reduce child mortality, create a global partnership for development and others.
To achieve the above objectives, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland has established a Department for Development Cooperation, which is responsible for the national development assistance system and supports the new EU development policy strategy and the European Development Concept.
The Polish development assistance system is regulated by the Development Cooperation Act of 2012 and aims to create conditions for sustainable development of partner countries by promoting and strengthening democracy, supporting the formation of modern and effective national institutions, poverty reduction and health, education and professional qualifications of the population.
