Active phase of training EU-CHEM-REACT 2: LSULS staff, cadets and international forces eliminate emergencies.

Today at 8:00 a.m. a request was submitted to the SES of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine about providing assistance and sending units to deal with emergencies. According to this scenario,  international experts arrived  to the place of  emergency  liquidation (training range around the administrative and residential complex of the south quarry of SE "Ekotransenerho" (near Yavoriv Lake in Lviv region) and began work on providing assistance to the injured.
The Emergency Response Headquarters, the TEB Commission and the OSOCC International Headquarters have been dealing with the emergency response. The commission and observers included: the head of the exercise, the Rector of LSULS Myroslav Koval, Deputy Chairman of LODA Vitaliy Zahainyi, Director of the Emergency Response Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Volodymyr Demchuk, Yuriy  Kagitin, Head of the State Emergency Service in Lviv Oblast, Project Coordinator Krzysztof Paturej and Vice President of  Voluntary  fire service of the Republic of Poland Wieslaw Lisnikewicz. It should be noted that the General Directorate of Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid of the European Commission, under whose auspices a project is underway, sent observers from Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Cyprus, France, Poland, Romania, Estonia for training.
During  the emergency  liquidation, the following situations were simulated, namely: transportation of dangerous vehicles of radioactive substances across the state border, identification of the victim with signs of biological lesions, biological sampling, fire fighting in an industrial building with the detection of dangerous chemical laboratory, road accident with pollution of the environment (lake) with unknown substances, destruction of buildings and structures as a result of an explosion with the detection of a composition with hazardous substances, transportation of unknown substances across the state border, detection of IRS in the household.
The complexity and specificity of the exercise is that neither the headquarters nor the participants know which event will be the  next and do not prepare for it in advance.
The variety of emergencies is of great practical importance, because the cadets gain valuable experience in communicating with various emergency services, EU countries, as well as the practical component of emergency response of various levels and types.
