"Artificial intelligence and translation: problems and challenges": a lecture-discussion was held at the University

On November 2, at the initiative of the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation Studies of LSULS, an online lecture-discussion was organized with Vasyl Bialyk,
doctor of philological sciences, professor, head of the Department of Communicative Linguistics and Translation of the Chernivtsi National University on the topic "Artificial intelligence and translation: problems and challenges". During the lecture, the basics of Artificial Intelligence, the principle of its operation and conditions of application were considered. Special attention was paid to the use of AI in the translation industry, in particular to copyright issues. Students also lively discussed the peculiarities of using AI in the legal and ethical dimension. The lecture turned out to be interesting for students and teachers from various universities of Ukraine, more than 250 participants in total, as well as for those who are interested in the prospects for the development of translation activities in the conditions of technical progress.
