Due to COVID-19 pandemic worldwide travel restriction, the Lviv State University of Life Safety hosted an online conference on planning and preparation for the EU-CHEM-REACT 2 field exercise, scheduled for October this year. The conference was opened by Acting Rector of LDUBZhD Colonel sl.ts.z. Roman Ratushnyi, Project Ambassador - Krzysztof Paturej; General Veslav Lesnyakevich; Officer responsible for the European Civil Protection Mechanism projects of the Directorate General of Civil Protection and Humanitarian Missions of the European Commission ECHO - Jose Almadovar. The following project partners also took part in the first online session:
International Center for Chemical Protection and Safety (ICCSS) in Warsaw, Poland;
Main Directorate of the Fire and Rescue Service of the Czech Republic;
General Inspectorate for Emergencies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova;
State Educational Institution "University of Civil Defense of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Republic of Belarus";
Association of works and services on fire safety in Lithuania; State Fire and Rescue Service, Ministry of the Interior of Latvia; Directorate-General for Civil Protection and Humanitarian Missions of the European Commission ECHO; Association of Voluntary Fire Service of Poland, as well as relevant departments of Ukraine.
The agenda included a number of issues: presentation of updated preparatory activities to be performed by partners for successful field exercises, confirmation of dates, program and scenario of field exercises, presentation and discussion of the program of observers and VIPs of the European Union, presentation and discussion of media plan of field exercises; discussion of the activation of the European Civil Protection Mechanism, presentation of the proposed sequence of control during field exercises by the main group, EXCON - training planning team and exercise evaluation team, key participants in exercises such as - RDC, LEMA, EU CPT, V OSOCC.
