Lviv State University of Life Safety is a collective member of several technical committees on standardization, in particular, TK25 "Fire safety and fire-fighting equipment" and TK315 "Technological and fire safety systems of buildings and structures". Employees of the departments and laboratories of the University are members of working groups for the development of standards projects, analyze requirements and provide proposals for improving existing national standards, prepare proposals for the national standardization plan.
At the international level, standardization activities are carried out in the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The LSULS chief scientist of the department of organization of research activities, colonel of the civil defense service, Yuriy RUDYK, was appointed as an observer in the technical bodies of IEC/CENELEC in accordance with the rules of their work with access to participation in meetings and development of draft documents.
On March 2, 2023, an online meeting of TS81X IES participants was held to evaluate the comments received on the changes to the draft international standard 62305-2 Lightning Protection - Part 2: Risk Ranking (CDV). The purpose of the meeting was to continue the scientific, practical and technical development of design, planning and implementation of safety measures to protect the life and health of people, property, buildings and structures from the effects of lightning.
