Postgraduate students of LSULS majoring in environmental studies took part in online Bioleaching summer school at Freiberg Mining Academy (Germany, Saxony)

Postgraduate students of the Department of Environmental Safety of the Lviv State University of Life Safety Kateryna Korol, Iryna Fediv, Roman Konanets, Oleh Tyndyk, Andriy Voloshchyshyn took part in the online Bioleaching summer school at the Freiberg Mining Academy (Germany, Saxony) (July 4th-6th). The summer school was aimed at master's and postgraduate students. The course included interactive learning and workshops. The summer school covered topics from bioleaching microorganisms and various processes related to the processing of technical and industrial waste. The project is implemented with the cooperation of MiCCuR (Microbial Consortium for Enhanced Copper Recovery), a collaboration between international research groups and companies from Sweden, Germany, South Africa and Chile. This project is implemented within the framework of the European Innovation Partnership for Raw Materials by researching the bioleaching of chalcopyrite and improving its efficiency. The consortium covered the process on an innovation and research perspective and comprehensively included engineering, chemistry and microbiology.
