International Field Exercise begins today as part of the EU-CHEM-REACT 2 project. On the territory of the training range, which is located around the administrative and residential complex of the south quarry of SE "Ekotranseneho" (near Yavoriv Lake in Lviv region), representatives of the Republic of Poland, Latvia, and Moldova arrived, as well as rescuers and representatives of the special services of Ukraine.
The five countries' collaboration aims to study and develop emergency response procedures, situations of chemical, radiation, and biological cause. These exercises involve conducting staff and field exercise to work out the issues of interaction of Civil Defense Services in Eastern Europe and the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism. It is a continuation of the exercise which took place in 2018. The training will last for three days.
The project participants from Ukraine are Lviv State University of Life Safety, GU SES of Ukraine in Lviv region, Lviv regional state administration, GU NP in Lviv region region, Lviv Patrol Police, State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Lviv Regional Center for Emergency Care and Disaster Medicine, Red Cross Society Of Ukraine, SSE "Lviv SCSC", SC "Ukrainian State Association" RADON ", and the 2nd Special Rapid Response Center of the SES of Ukraine.
The training involves international organizations, including the International Center for Chemical Safety (Warsaw), the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, the United Nations, the OSCE and Interpol.
The training will be led by moderators who will monitor the course of events. The exercise will take place at several locations, and the teams  will be separated.  The entire training process will be monitored by invited observers and international representatives.
At the end of each day, participants will have a debriefing, where  the course of the past day will be discussed, and the shortcomings, if any.
The participants will gain tremendous experience in the exercise. It should be emphasized that the safety of all participants at each stage is paramount in these exercises. 
Taking into account the epidemiological situation in Ukraine and its daily changes, all participants are familiar with international anti-epidemiological rules, rules of personal protection and wearing masks. Safety and protection measures against COVID-19 are
implemented at each stage of training. They are included in the media and communication strategy.
