The first part of the Lviv workshop on developing a scenario approach to training and exercises within the framework of the Union Civil Protection Mechanism was also conducted online due to the general situation related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Developments on project developments were presented at 2 online workshops. Research and teaching staff of the University Oleksandr Lazarenko and Vasyl Loiik, who are experts of the project, presented one of the possible developed templates of the scenario, according to which training will be conducted under the NET-CBRN-REACT project in 2022. Other participants of the project also presented their scenarios.
The consortium members discussed and analyzed research on future exercises, practice and procedures based on risks common in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. The concept of dissemination of information in MEDIA was agreed.
In the complex and ever-changing environment of the COVID19 pandemic, more effective preparedness and prevention, more rapid response and response to emergencies require better information collection, flow, and exchange of knowledge and skills to consolidate scientific evidence. That is why one of the conditions of the project was the creation of online expert support of the Knowledge Network within the framework of the Union Civil Protection Mechanism, which was successfully implemented.
The NET-CBRN-REACT project will promote the implementation of the UN Sendai Framework Program on Disaster Risk Reduction, providing a better understanding of disaster risks in Eastern Europe and the Middle East, and helping to inform the EU during crisis management.
