The University hosted an international seminar and round table "Modern translation studies in the aspect of intercultural communication"
14/09/2021 the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation Studies organized and conducted an international seminar "Modern translation studies in the aspect of intercultural communications”. The event was attended by scientists from Lviv State University of Life Safety, John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, (Republic of Poland), Palatsky University in Olomouc (Czech Republic), Lviv Polytechnic, I. Franko National University of Lviv, Zaporizhia National University. The participants discussed various aspects of the theory and art of translation, in particular the poetry of I. Franko and L. Ukrainka in Polish, Czech and English languages, as well as linguistic and cultural interpretation of the Bible, its translation into different languages.
Heinrich Duda, Professor of the Polish Language Department at the Catholic University of Lublin, highlighted the specifics of translating the works of L. Venglinsky into Ukrainian, and Professor Alla Arkhangelska gave a speech on the specifics and directions of translation studies in
Palatsky Olomouc University. Within the framework of the scientific seminar the professor of the department of Foreign Languages and Translation Studies Oksana Babelyuk gave a lecture “Current issues of linguopoetics, literature studies and translation studies in the postmodern paradigm ”.
