In Vilnius, scientists of the LSULS discussed the problems of environmental engineering at an international conference

Acting Vice-Rector of the University for Scientific Research, Civil Protection Service Colonel Vasyl Popovych and Full-time Adjunct, Civil Protection Service Captain Iryna Fediv took part in the 12th International Scientific Conference "Environmental Engineering", which was held on the basis of the Vilnius Gediminas Technical University in Lithuania.
The conference provided an opportunity for scientists, engineers, managers and professionals from all over the world to summarize research on engineering ecology and highlight the problems of functioning of various facilities.
The main goals of the "Environmental Engineering" conference are:
- to promote direct discussions and versatile cooperation between researchers from Lithuanian and foreign scientific and educational institutions, engineers, representatives of industry and municipalities;
- to bring together potential partners for successful, long-term and continuous cooperation in environmental engineering;
- to discuss further directions for the development of applied research and the implementation of modern research in practice.
Vasyl Popovych delivered a report on the peculiarities of liquidation of the consequences of emergency situations during the war. A number of agreements have been reached regarding further cooperation between the universities, joint publications in engineering journals with a high citation index, joint projects and research. He also presented the poster publication "RAILWAY INFRASTRUCTURE OF UKRAINE AS A FACTOR OF SOIL CHEMICAL HAZARD (ANALYTICAL OVERVIEW)" (co-authors - Yu. Danchenko, I. Shukel, P. Bosak). Iryna Fediv presented the poster publication "SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGY OF WASTEWATER TREATMENT BY ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY MODIFIED NATURAL SORBENTS FOR REMOVAL OF NITROGEN AND PHOSPHORUS" (co-authors - K. Stepova, J. Šarko, A. Mažeikienė), demonstrating the results of research within the framework of the Ukrainian-Lithuanian project , which is implemented at the Lviv State University of Life Safety.
