More than 300 cadets of the Lviv State University of Life Safety pledged allegiance to the Ukrainian people
Over 300 cadets of the Lviv State University of Life Safety gave oath to the Civil Protection units and pledged allegiance to the Ukrainian people. The event was attended by Hryhoriy Marchenko, Director of Emergency Response, Serhiy Vasylenko, vice-chairman of Lviv Regional State Administration, Mykhailo Kozyar, rector of the university, Yaroslav Kachmaryk, Chairman of the Standing Committee on budget and social&economic development in Lviv Regional Council, heads of territorial divisions of Ukrainian SES(State Emergency Service) and foreign delegations.
In his welcoming speech rector Mykhailo Kozyar stated: "You are entrusted with an extremely honorable and responsible mission - by your vocation you have chosen the profession to protect security and peace of our people because there is nothing more expensive than life. "Prevent. Save. Help" - this slogan fits best for your everyday life difficulties. A thorny path lies ahead of you, and it provides no space for indifference to human grief; there altruism and willingness for self-sacrifice outline the meaning and incomparable value of today’s special occasion which forever engaged you with courage and bravery.”
Hryhoriy Marchenko delivered felicitation on behalf of Mykhailo Bolotskykh, chairman of the Ukrainian State Emergency Service, addressing the cadets and the university staff. “Leaders of the Ukrainian SES are sincerely proud of the University achievements, its constant development, as well as improvement of the educational process via innovative technologies that are used in teaching. One of the significant achievements was your European recognition. The University became the center of security not only in Lviv Region but also in Ukraine and took its proper place in the general European mechanism which secures the highest human value – life and health of people. Forecasting, preventing and taking preventive measures should lay down the basis for successful activity of the civil protection systems. Professionalism, dedication and service to the ideals of humanity, however, should remain the highest priority for each rescuer"- the Director of Emergency Response mentioned in his speech.
Immediately after the oath-giving, staff parade of the Lviv State University of Life Safety took place. The highlight of this festival was an exhibition of fire and rescue vehicles equipment and demonstrations of combat elements by (providing first aid, elimination of the consequences of an accident, fire fighting the spilled oil in open areas, fire abolition in high-rise apartment buildings, rescuing people at heights, etc.). In particular, guests could explore the functioning of a contemporary mobile training facility for preparation of the fire Mobil Trainer ML 2000 which so far has no analogues in Ukraine.
