Staff, cadets and students of the University commemorated Victims of Holodomor

​Cadets and students of Lviv State University of Life Safety participated in the national wide campaign "Light a Candle" as part of activities dedicated to the Commemoration Day of the Victims of Holodomor. An organizer of the event is council of cadets and students self-government of LSU LS. Anyone wishing had an opportunity to come to Protection of the Blessed Virgin Church located on the university territory and pray for those who suffered as a result of mass genocide against the Ukrainian people. All present joined the nationwide minute of silence at 16:00 pm and lit symbolic candles.
Besides, the rector Mykhaylo Kozyar together with cadets and students took part in the urban action where they commemorated Victims of Holodomor of 1923-1933. The "minute of silence» was accompaniment by the metronome. The signal which sounded during the minute of silence stopped in the work of government authority, local government bodies, enterprises, institutions and organizations (expect enterprises where no manufacturing process is allowed), public and private transports traffic. All participants took part in the event "Light a candle!”. Representatives of local and regional authorities, pupils and students lit candles and icing-lamps in the square opposite to T.Shevchenko monument.
