The cadet Dmytro Vorobey won silver at the World Championship of kettlebell lifting
During November 20-24, 2013 in Tyumen city (Russia) the World Championship of kettlebell lifting was held. Ukrainian team won second place on the podium of the competition. Dmytro Vorobey, a master of second year study of the Institute of Firefighting and Industrial Safety of Lviv State University of Life Safety, successfully took on a competition as a part of our team. He took the second place of honour among adults in the weight category up to 73 kg. It should be noted that this is already Dmytro’s second silver medal, since he won his first prize this spring in Tashkent (Uzbekistan).
The main obstacle that prevented the Ukrainian athletes to show the best results was the time difference between Kyiv and Tyumen that is four hours. After long and exhausting way our sportsmen were not able to adapt in short time to the new conditions, and it was noticeable during the whole competition.
On the whole the World Championship of kettlebell lifting was held at the highest organizational level. It was attended by athletes from 22 countries, which indicates the popularity of this kind of sport around the world.
