200th anniversary from the day on which Taras Shevchenko was born: Interuniversity Scientific Seminar of cadets and students “Modern reading of Taras Shevchenko”

​On March, 11 the interuniversity scientific  seminar of cadets and students  “Modern reading of Taras Shevchenko”  organized by the department of Ukrainian Studies as a part of the festivities of the 200th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko’s birth was held.
Almost all speakers noted the extraordinary applicability of Shevchenko's works, especially today, when the Ukrainian nation struggles for its freedom, dignity, independence, the way it was taught by our Kobzar. The seminar showed that young people on the rebound  of current events are still coming back to Shevchenko's words, moreover, they want to know what kind of person was Kobzar, who he loved, what he was dreaming  about.
In one of the reports the words of Yevhen Sverstyuk sounded in unison with the thoughts of all those present , “The phenomenon of Shevchenko reflects our national nature, our world perception, our past and our hope for the future.  It symbolizes the soul of the Ukrainian nation, embodies its dignity, spirit and memory. "
Not only cadets and students  of our University, but also students of the Ivan Franko National Univesity,  Lviv National University of Internal Affairs, the Army Academy named after hetman Petro Sahaydachnyi, Academician V.Lazaryan Dnipropetrovsk National Railway Transport University situated in Lviv and audience of Minor Academy of Sciences studying at 91 school at Lviv participated in the discussion of current topics about Shevchenko.
