Cadets went hiking in Borzhava Mountain Range
On May 17-18, as part of exercise, cadets went hiking in Borzhava mountain range. The freshmen from the Institute of Civil Defense and sophomores from the Institute of Firefighting and Industrial Safety took part in the trip under the supervision of Maryana Hrytsiuk, the teacher of the department of project management, information technology and telecommunications and Petro Ivankiv, deputy regimental commander of educational and socio-psychological work.
They set out in the morning on May 17 and travelled by train from the city to the alpine town Volovets’ (500 m asl), in the Transcarpathian region. There is a steep but short (1.5 hours) rise of old beech forest. Then the path meanders through the ridge alongside the picturesque mountain valley with a small height difference. During the trip, participants climbed several peaks - Orthodox Cross - 1215 m, m.Temnatyk - 1343 m, m.Play - 1330 m. The length of the route from the station Volovets’ to the tops and back was 18 miles, height - 900 m
On May 18 cadets made a trip to alpine waterfall Shypit - the most beautiful waterfall in Ukraine. Water falls from 14 meters high and breaks into several cascades.
Weather proved to be generous and gave travelers a warm sun, refreshing breeze, bluish skies and a wonderful view of mountain ranges. Having had a lot of fun and new experiences, on their way back, students and teachers were eagerly discussing their future trips.
