Legendary Pylyp Desiatnykov visits University

Honoured veteran, the person who truly became live legend of fire and rescue service, retired general Pylyp Desiatnykov together with his wife visited the Lviv State University of Life Safety.
 Principal Mykhailo Koziar introduced the respectable guest to the educational and scientific base, showed how today specialists are being trained in the field of human security. Pylyp Desiatnykov highly appraised the dynamic development of scholastic institution and was impressed by what he saw. In particular, he mentioned: "I could not even hope that educational process can be improved to such a degree. We were taught by using posters, drawing schemes on blackboard with chalks. And now all are computerized, information is easier to learn, received knowledge is much qualitative. I am pleasantly impressed by the rapid development and improvement of the educational process at your university."
It is possible to talk about firefighting and labor achievements of Pylyp Desiatnykov for hours. He headed the Fire Safety Department at Ukraine Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). He initiated and guided the construction of a number of fire departments, sports complexes, polygons, stripes of psychological training of the fire guard personnel and more all of which still effectively perform their functions.
State government highly appreciated his devotion to work, professionalism, courage, bravery and self-denial that were found during the elimination of consequences of accident on the Chornobyl nuclear electric power station (NEPS). Great practical experience, knowledge, high ability to work of Pylyp Desiatnykov allowed providing the organization of reliable fire-prevention protection of station at all stages of emergency elimination.
Pylyp Mykolaievych was awarded with the order of Lenin according to decree of Supreme Council URSR Presidium, he is knight of First, Second and Third Class Order of Merit . He was awarded with many medals and state awards.

Now, Pylyp Mykolaievych is on the deserved retirement, but is still engaged in social work.  He has repeatedly delivered a speech on elimination of consequenses of accident on the CNEPS in Canada, Germany, and Czechoslovakia and always received positive comments from foreign colleagues. In addition, he is a member of social council of State Emergency Service of Ukraine, vice-chairman of the Ukrainian association "Chornobyl" agencies and troops of MIA, president of Ukrainian organization Chornobyl invalids of Ukraine MIA, vice-chairman of presidium of the organization of the Ministry central apparatus veterans.
