Lviv State University of Life Safety Prepares Ordnance Technicians
The Department of maintenance and supply for explosive ordnance disposals has been established in Lviv State University of Life Safety. The Department will conduct training for engineer combat units at State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
The need for such specialists is obvious. Last year, engineer combat units of SES of Ukraine deactivated above 150 thousand explosives on the territory of more than 3000 hectares. During the ongoing anti-terrorist operation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine engineer combat units of SES continually work on inspection, detection, removal and deactivation of explosive munitions left behind by the militants.
Since the beginning of their work (June 6, 2014) pyrotechnics of SES of Ukraine have found and seized 33081 ammunition items. They have inspected 968 administrative buildings. The total area of land inspected - 1672.2 ha and the total area of water - 37.5 hectares.
