Cadets and Students of our University Took Part in the Ukrainian Spelling Dictation of National Unity

Версія для друку

November 9, the Day of Ukrainian writing and language teachers, officers, cadets and students of our University took part in the Ukrainian spelling dictation of national unity. This event is not so much a test of literacy as an act of unity around language, which gives a sense of belonging to a common cause. As Oles Gonchar said: "language - is the fate of our people, and it depends on how earnestly we all take care of it."
At a time when Ukraine once again is forced to defend its right for its own state, the question of language as a primary form of national identity arose as never true. So the process of writing a dictation was particularly exciting, and when it ended, the audience suddenly heard applause.
Quoting words from the very dictation, it is safe to say that "although previously the texts were written with pen, the last half-century - a ballpoint pen, and then it is said that one can dial it on his or her computer dictation will still unite us."
