In St. Mary's Church It was Held a Prayer Service on the Occasion of the International Students’ Day
November 17, at Lviv State University of Life Safety the senior priest of the Church Roman Velykyi sent a prayer service on the occasion of the International students’ Day.
The tradition of celebrating of this feast on this day lasts from 1941, and then in London, the International Students’ Council for the first time celebrated this day. And it all started with the fact that on this day in 1939 Nazi stormed the University of Prague after the mass student demonstration against the murder of Jan Opletala and the invasion of Czechoslovakia, and the arrest of nine student leaders, send 1200 students to concentration camps, and the closure of all Czech universities and boards.
Every Sundays and on public holidays in St. Mary's Church it is held a worship that involves not only cadets and students, but all comers. Pastor Father Roman Velykyi does everything to close the collective cohesion, strengthen the moral and psychological climate among the staff.
