The University Celebrated the New but the Iconic Holiday in the Modern History of Ukraine - Day of Dignity and Freedom

November 21, teachers, cadets and students of Lviv State University of Life Safety as part of the Day of Dignity and Freedom took part in the nationwide action.
  Everyone had the opportunity to come to St. Mary's Church, located on campus and pray and honour the memory of those who died on the Square during the "Revolution of dignity" and defended the integrity of Ukraine in the fighting in the east of our country in the area of ATO.
  Honouring the memory of the Heroes of Square the first year students organized a literary and artistic requiem - "Heroes do not die." Words of songs and poems by students talked about invaluable feat of "heavenly hundred."  After completing Requiem the cadets, students and staff of the institution honoured heroes with the minute of silence.
  "While we have such young people like you - Ukraine has the future! Many heroes that are now mentioned are no longer among us, but they will live forever, and will live as long as we remember them. "- said Yurii Pavlyuk.
  After the events of 2013 - 2014 year, the revolution of dignity and tragedy of early undeclared war of Russia against Ukraine, according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko № 872/2014 of 13 November 2014 year, with the aim of strengthening the ideals of freedom in Ukraine and democracy, preserve and deliver to contemporary and future generations of objective information about the momentous events in Ukraine in the XXI century, as well as paying tribute honouring patriotism and courage of citizens who in autumn 2004 and in November 2013 - February 2014 came to the defence of democratic values, rights and freedoms of man and citizen, national interests of the Ukrainian state and its European choice, festive day received a new breath." To celebrate Day of dignity and freedom every year on November 21 "- stated in the decree № 872/2014.
