Cadets of Lviv State University of Life Safety honour the Liquidators of the Chernobyl Accident

Students of the University participated in laying flowers and holding rank memorial service for the victims of the accident at the memorial "Heroes and Victims of Chernobyl".
Day of honouring liquidators of the Chernobyl accident celebrated annually on December 14 - the day of completion of the sarcophagus over the destroyed fourth reactor of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
            The participants laid flowers to the monument and prayed for all those who died as a result of the Chernobyl accident. Then there was a meeting-requiem. In front of the community spoke the Deputy Head of Lviv Regional State Administration Andrii Kornat who said: "Today we have to think about our country and the future of our children. So remembering the past should show how to act to prevent errors such as the Chernobyl disaster.”
            Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyi awarded coins of Andrey Sheptytskyi to liquidators of the Chernobyl accident of the first category Igor Kliuka and Yurii Lukashov and head of the regional organization" Vsevolod Smerechynsk Chernobyl Union of Ukraine”. He also said: "Once Chernobyl was the greatest tragedy of our country since we got independence. Today we have a lot of sad dates in our calendar. "
            The liquidators of the Chernobyl consequences are people that the cost of their lives and health were in an unequal struggle against deadly radiation, defended their people from the consequences of this massive man-made tragedy of mankind.
In the fight with "atomic monster" came a detachment of cadets-volunteers of our university: Viktor Avramenko, Ivan Blashko, Olexander Dremliuga, Vasyl Ilyuk, Serhii Klymchuk, Yurii Kolachuk, Mykola Prudius, Olexander Svyntytskyi and Yurii Sauliak, under the supervision of the cycle of fire tactics, colonel of internal service now retired Mikhailo Sudnitsyn. They spent decontamination works on technological platforms vent stack 3 and 4 of Chernobyl nuclear power and dumped radioactive debris graphite and uranium in the reactor sarcophagus. Among the many thousands of heroes, the liquidators are also current employees and veterans of our establishment: Vyacheslav Koshelenko, Igor Ivaneyko, Anatolii Antoniuk, Olexander Havrylko, Vyacheslav Kisil, Artur Lebid, Mikhailo Sudnitsyn, Andrii Kharchuk, Orest Yurents and now late Bohdan Hrytsai and Ivan Bilenko. It is thanks to the courage and dedication of these people it was managed to curb the nuclear element.
