Department of Foreign Languages and Technical Translation Held Scientific Seminars

During December 2015 the Department of Foreign Languages ​​and Technical Translation held two inter-university seminars and department webinar. At the session of the seminar "Theory and practice of art and military-technical translation" the lecturer of the department of Applied Linguistics of G.Kochur of Lviv National University of Ivan Franko Galyna Pehnik described the simultaneous interpretation difficulties which may arise in connection with the peculiarities of interpreter’s temperament. The speaker gave examples from her own practice of simultaneous translation in the language pair English-Ukrainian. Lecturer of Foreign Languages ​​and Technical Translation of Lviv State University of Life Safety Stanislav Koval highlighted the peculiarities of localization of English computer and video games in Ukrainian. Session "Scientific and methodical seminar of teachers of foreign languages ​​and translation of higher education in Ukraine" was devoted to the analysis methods of knowledge assessment and correction.  Deputy Head of the Department of Foreign Languages ​​of Lviv Institute of Economics and Tourism Yuliia Matviyiv-Lozynska in video mode shared methodology of defence conducting of industrial practice of foreign languages ​​in the form of round table. Lecturer of FL and TT of LSU LS Oksana Dovbush told about the peculiarities of error correction during monologic speech of students. During the fourth session of the webinar "Distance and combined studies in Ukraine and abroad" it was discussed the specifics of the educational process in Ukraine and abroad, assistant professor of foreign languages ​​of Ukrainian State Academy of Railway Transport Tetiana Pylayeva in her report presented leading trends in distance education in British higher education.  Representative of IT Company Yurii Svirsky analysed the information systems in higher educational establishments of Ukraine.
