There was a Farewell to the Lifeguard who Died in a Fire in Kiev.

January 31, on the territory of the 18th State Fire and Rescue Department it was carried the funeral of a fire-rescuer, Sergeant of civil protection Vyacheslav Potapenko, who died during the liquidation of fire in the multi-storeyed building on I.Leps Avenue.
To say goodbye and to honour the memory of fire-fighter arrived rescuers of Kyiv garrison, close family, relatives and friends, as well as ordinary people of Kiev, who were imbued with tragedy. Today, in front of close family it was shed many tears of sorrow; in the eyes of friends and comrades was read sadness and pain. Many good and warm words of farewell sounded from the lips of colleagues, relatives and friends. All expressed their condolences to the family, but no words will help to overcome the grief. "The work of fire rescuer - is always a risk. Even understanding the dangers of our profession is always difficult to part with their colleagues, because all of us is a big family and when we lose one of us, everyone feels the pain. On behalf of all the services and myself, I express condolences to the relatives and colleagues of the deceased. I understand how difficult it is to survive the loss. We bow our heads to courage of Vyacheslav, who with his life gave a chance to the residents of the house and his comrades to stay alive. I assure you that we will not forget the heroism and help families to survive this heavy loss "- said the head of SES of Ukraine in Kiev.
Eternal memory to hero-rescuer! He will forever remain in our hearts.
