Lviv State University of Life Safety takes part in EU Research and Innovation Program "Horizon 2020"

In 2016, research teams from Lviv State University of Life Safety will participate in the new research and innovation program "Horizon 2020", the total budget of which is about 80 billion Euros. As a part of consortiums there were submitted applications for grant for implementation of two major projects in the field of civil security.

 In particular, the first project was initiated by Lviv SES institution together with partners from Poland. The project also was joined by colleagues from Estonia, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The project involves the creation of the University Centre for the training of local authorities’ representatives to act in natural and man-made disasters. Also it is planned to create an international information-analytical system based on GIS and Web technologies.
The second project will be implemented by a consortium consisting of our University and 18 EU partners. It is planned to develop risk emergencies, scientific and educational exchanges as part of cross-border cooperation. Following the project, at the Lviv State University of Life Safety it is planned to hold large-scale international exercises on the illumination of emergencies.
