The Students of LSU LS will learn how to Prevent Chemical Accidents Involving New Chemical Protection Vehicles

The staff of the fire and rescue training department of Lviv State University of Life Safety tested the work of equipment and tools of special chemical protection vehicle Iveco Magirus. This car was given by colleagues of Polish educational institution, in the framework of bilateral international cooperation and academic experts of fire and rescue equipped it with special equipment. The car is intended for disaster recovery of the spill and leak of hazardous chemicals for emergency rescue - rescue operations during accidents and environmental disasters. It is also used for pumping oil from open water surfaces using a peristaltic pump, followed by referral to a special mix separator. Pneumatic equipment makes it possible to install three sealing pillow cylindrical shape for the elimination of leaks of hazardous chemicals in open pipes with a diameter of 100- 500 mm and imposing two sealing dressings (bandages) to the leak of hazardous chemical containers. Also, it was also demonstrated the work of the power generator, lighting spotlights, electric mobile filtering electric pump tank and hand pump suction with mini-NHR and hand operated diaphragm pump. According to the chief of fire and rescue training department the work Vasil Kovalchyk, attracting of special chemical protection vehicle with the above mentioned equipment, greatly improve the quality and level of future rescuers performance their tasks.
