Intellectual Property Policy at Universities and Research Institutions

29 February- 01 March 2016 at the International Centre for legal, historical and political studies of Central and Eastern Europe of Kyiv National University of Sciences of Ukraine, it was held an international seminar on "Intellectual Property Policy at universities and research institutions."
It was organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the State Intellectual Property Service of Ukraine.       Organizers and participants received letters of congratulations from the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine B. Paton; Chairman of the Union of Lawyers of Ukraine - V. Yevdokimov; Ambassador of Poland to Ukraine.
          The workshop was attended by international and prominent scientists of Ukrainian legal science,that represented the scientific environment of Switzerland, Slovakia, Poland, young scientists, representatives of many institutions, including Lviv State University of Life Safety that was represented by a senior lecturer in law and management in the field of civil protection Doctor of Law Science colonel of civil defence service A.Samilo. 
         The seminar highlighted the important issues and challenges of professional training of intellectual property in Ukraine, improvement of legislation in the field of industrial property, theoretical and historical - legal aspects of intellectual property, and the legal regulation of intellectual property acquisition, implementation and protection of intellectual property rights. Also, it paid attention to such important issues as the importance of intellectual property for universities and research institutions in Ukraine, the appropriateness of improving the state strategy of intellectual property by 2020, the need for a balanced focused on students learning environment at the university, creating of effective mechanisms for combating plagiarism in academic papers.

Participants had the opportunity to communicate with international experts to share experiences and discuss future plans for improving the work in this multi-industry as intellectual property.
