Visual Aid Room to Mark 202 Anniversary of Taras Shevcheko’s Birth took place at the University

On March 18, visual aid room to mark 202 anniversary of Taras Shevcheko’s birth took place at LSU LS. This event was organized by the Department of Ukrainian Studies. Nadiia Slobodianyk, 2^nd year cadet of the Institute of civil defense presented a report «The reception of Taras Shevchenko in Ukrainian movies of ХХІ century». Visual aid room participants and lecturers discussed the significance of Shevchenko for contemporary Ukraine and his presence in different types of art. Then, everybody watched little known movie «Expedition: legendary travel of Kobzar» produced by Kostiantyn Konovalov. This drama and documental movie was produced in 2014 for bicentenary of Kobzar’s birth customized by the State Cinema Committee about Shevchenko’s academic travelling through the Aral Sea and the peculiarities of ХІХ century as well. Cadets learned more about Shevchenko’s life and his artistic talent.
