Interuniversity Scientific and Practical Seminar "It's Time to Live for Ukraine!" took place in Lviv State University of Life Safety

On November 30 Interuniversity Scientific and Practical Seminar "It's Time to Live for Ukraine!" took place in Lviv State University of Life Safety. The Seminar, organized by Ukrainian Studies Department, was dedicated to the 160th anniversary of Ivan Franko.

Participants of the Seminar represented our University, Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Army Academy, Lviv State University of Internal Affairs, the Lviv branch of Dnipropetrovsk National University of Railway Transport named after Academician V. Lazaryan.

Opening speech was delivered by Director of Educational and Scientific Institute of Psychology and Social Work Bohdan Shunevych. Head of Ukrainian Studies Department Martha Labach emphasized the special relevance of Ivan Franko in the XXI century in the first report.

During the Seminar participants discussed Ivan Franko's political and philosophical views, including his understanding of patriotism and nationalism, the problem of leadership (the poem "Moses"). Much of the topics were dedicated to Franko's heritage artistic reflection (in music, films, art).
