Specialized training on the subject of active learning and pedagogical leadership took place at LSULS

Lviv State University of Life Safety in conjunction with Kingston University (London, UK) continued implementation of the international project "Internationalization of higher education" supported by the British Council.

From March, 14 till March 16 a specialized training on the subject of active learning and pedagogical leadership  at universities took place at Lviv State University of Life Safety. The training was conducted in the following modules:

- Active Learning: From Practice to Theory

- Blended ways to support Active Learning: Problem-based Learning and the Flipped Classroom

 - Pedagogical leadership  in higher education

Training aimed at developing of communicative skills necessary for successful pedagogical leadership and teaching with regard to best practice used in the UK.

In general 95 applications to participate in the training were received. 60 participants were chosen. They were invited to direct participation. The training gathered the representatives of the following universities: Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics, Sumy State University, Chernivtsi National University, O.Bogomolets National Medical University, Kyiv National Economic University, National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy", Poltava National Technical University, Ukrainian Academy of Printing, Uzhgorod National University, Cherkasy State Technological University, Ukrainian Catholic University, Ternopil State Medical University, Ivan Franko Lviv National University, Cherkasy Institute of Fire Safety named after Chornobyl Heroes, National Forestry University of Ukraine, Ternopil National Pedagogical University, Lviv Polytechnic National University.

The participants got in-depth understanding of means and tools for effective communication with the student audience and also new skill for effective leadership teaching. Seminars were held with the participation of experienced certified British coaches - Roberto Di Napolli and Sabrina Poma. Visit to LSULS made by Dr. Roberto Di Napolli and Dr. Sabrina Poma was one of the next planned project activities aimed at conducting specialized training on the subject of active learning and educational leadership. During the visit Dr. Roberto Di Napolli and Dr. Sabrina Poma attended some lectures prepared by scientific and pedagogical staff of LSULS and discussed ways of further implementation of the "Internationalization of higher education."
