Our cadets learn the peculiarities of humanitarian demining in Estonia

Between March 24 and April 1, 2017 Lviv State University of Life Safety and Security Academy of Estonia took part in the joint project "Support to the Ukrainian Emergency Situations Service in establishment of the training system in the field of humanitarian demining" (Väike-Marja, Estonia). The Head of Engineering and Pyrotechnic Works Department Lieutenant Colonel Victor Kovalchuk, lecturer of the Department  Lt. Volodymyr Nikitchyn and first-year cadets of the specialty "Civil Security". The peculiarity of this event is that all material is taught in accordance with international standards of humanitarian demining IMAS.

Within the project our cadets had an opportunity to learn the classification of explosives and their physical and chemical properties, the use of various ammunition; procedure for calculating safe distances during explosive works (according to specification standards IMAS).
