Research and teaching staff of the University commemorated Academician Ivan Zyazyun

On March 30-31, 2017 International scientific and practical conference "Scientific Heritage of Academician Ivan Zyazyun in Present and Future Dimensions" took place at National Pedagogical Dragomanov University. It was attended by a delegation from Lviv State University of Life Safety including Rector of the University Mykhailo Kozyar, Professor Hryhoriy Vasyanovych, Professor Andriy Lytvyn, Professor Larysa Rudenko.

Conference started with a plenary session and continued within working sessions. The event brought together guests from Chernihiv, Kyiv, Lviv, Poltava and Kharkiv regions. It was also attended by the delegation from the Academy of Sciences of Poland. Ivan Zyazyun developed the “Pedagogy of Kindness” which united the ideas of Hryhoriy Skovoroda, Pamfil Yurkevich, Borys Grinchenko, Kostyantyn Ushinskyi, Vasyl Sukhomlynskyi and other scientists. In combination with philosophy, sociology, psychology, cultural studies, history, literature, art and ethnopedagogy it is designed to store ‘humanity in a human’. John A. lived and worked arguing that a teacher is the fundamental force of social reproduction - cultural, economic and political.

On March 31, 2017 Ivan Zyazyun Memorial Estate was opened in Pashkivka village (Nizhyn district of Chernihiv region. It was opened in a small paternal home. Museum consists of two rooms where visitors can read the original documents, view photos from the personal archive, feel the atmosphere of study. They also can walk through the garden, where all trees were planted by Ivan Zyazyun himself.
