Practical exercises for rescuers from five regions of Ukraine took place in the testing field of Lviv State University of Life Safety

Within the framework of the “Polska Pomoc” program, a final stage of the project “Support of the training system of voluntary fire brigades and raising the professional skills of the state rescue services of Ukraine” took place on November 5-7.
After the official meeting with the Vice Rector of the University Roman Ratushnyi and the award of instructors’ certificates, the participants passed the theoretical lecture course. During the second day of the exercises practical trainers of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Odeska, Donetska, Dnipropetrovska, Ternopil’ska, Vinnitska regions and volunteers of the fire brigades of the western Ukraine were able to check their preparation to perform the tasks assigned to them during fires, liquidation of emergency situations at the Multifunctional training simulator for practical training of rescuers of a container type and apply the acquired knowledge to improve the professional skills of the staff of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
The project was attended by the leader of the consortium − the Main School of the State Fire Service in Warsaw, and the project partners: the Lviv State University of Life Safety, the Main Department of State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Lvivska region, the Lviv regional Voluntary Fire Department of Ukraine.
The long-term cooperation between the Main School of the State Fire Service in Warsaw and our University provides an opportunity to take new experience in human security, implement innovative technologies in the educational process, and what is the most important, to work out practical skills at such training complexes. This complex, without doubts, serves as a powerful enhancement of the practical component in the training process, because it very exactly reproduce the conditions close to real fires in enclosed spaces, where every rescuer can test himself in extreme conditions in an emergency situations and work out the acquired theoretical knowledge. There are only 18 such training complexes of a container type in Poland and one is in our University.
