History of the Institute

    The Institute of Psychology and Social Protection was established in accordance with the SES Order No. 109 of February 20, 2014, due to the redistribution of the available number of the Faculty of Humanities, without increasing the number and within the limits of the budget, and is the youngest unit of the Lviv State University, and the Faculty was founded in 2012, Namely, on October 14, 2012, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the University, the opening and consecration of all the premises of the Faculty was held.

    The Institute of Psychology and Social Protection functions in the structure of the university as a scientific and educational unit, designed to develop various areas of humanities (in particular, psychology, history, philology, cultural studies and pedagogy).

The main directions of the Institute's activity:

• training of specialists in licensed areas, specialties of educational and qualification levels: bachelor, specialist, master's degree in cooperation between the faculties of the
• University, obtaining a second higher education, retraining and advanced training of specialists of SES units of Ukraine;
• training of scientific-pedagogical and scientific workers of higher qualification and participation in their certification;
• scientific research and related works of the innovation cycle "science-production";
• scientific-methodical, organizational-methodical, educational, cultural-educational, informational, publishing;
• participation in career guidance work;
• participation in international cooperation of the University.

The Institute has 50 scientific and pedagogical staff, including 7 Doctors of Sciences and 19 Candidates of Sciences. The Institute consists of 4 departments two of which are graduates.
     The students and students of the Institute are actively involved in the research work of the Institute and the University, conferences, scientific seminars and competitions, round tables and other events.

  The cadets and students of the institute visit art studios, tours of historical places, interact with famous writers, artists, public and scientific figures.
