Cadets’ and Students’ Self-government Council
General information
The main purpose of cadets’ and students’ self-government, an important element of educational work improvement, is an intensification of social activity processes in learners’ environment, initiative and responsibility for their assigned work as well as promotion of cadets and students harmonious personality development, gaining by them qualities and skills of a leader, organizer, manager and exemplary officer.
The main directions of self-government activities and objectives:
- to provide organizational, scientific, cultural, sport, recreational and other activities;
- to adopt regulations that govern their organization and activities;
- to promote employment of learners, studying at the higher institution;
- to manage funds and other assets that are on their balance and bank accounts;
- to contribute formation of cadets’ and students’ patriotism, respect for Ukraine, hometown and alma mater as well as feelings of national identity and dignity;
- to protect cadets’ and students’ rights and interests, to provide satisfaction their needs in education, health, recreation etc.;
- to promote cadets’ and students’ educational, research and creative activities;
- to contribute to the creation of necessary conditions for cadets’ and students’ living and recreation;
- to organize cooperation with the cadets and students from other higher schools and youth political organizations;
- to promote cadets’ and students’ participation in international, national, regional and other projects, competitions, conferences, and subject contests;
- to provide information, legal and psychological helps for cadets and students together with the relevant services of the University;
- to promote healthy lifestyles, to prevent commission of cadets’ and students’ violations and using them alcohol, drugs, tobacco etc.;
- to provide information and publishing activities;
- to cooperate and coordinate the work with lecturers, curators of cadets’ and students’ groups;
- to become a founder of charities if it is necessary;
- to adopt regulations that govern their organization and activities;
- to provide organizational, scientific, cultural, sports, recreational and other activities;
- to assist in employment of cadets and students;
- to dispose funds and other assets that are on their balance sheet and bank accounts.
The university administrative board can consult with the cadets’ and students’ self-government council concerning:
- expelling cadets and students of the university;
- transfer of a cadet, student or adjunct who receives a scholarship and studies at the state in order to study under the contract;
- transfer of a cadet, student or adjunct who studies under the contract to study under state order;
- appointment of a deputy dean and a vice-rector to charge university staff;
- providing accommodation for cadets and students.
