Department of Military Training
Department of Military Training is a unit of Lviv State University of Life Safety, which provides reserve officers' training. It admits citizens of Ukraine who have or acquire a degree of higher education, are eligible for military service for health and moral qualities.
The Department was established according to the order of Rector of Lviv State University of Life Safety at number 218 (April 15, 2016) "On announcement of the department of military training formation"
The department provides training for two military specialties:
1. "Fighting application of engineering connections in military units";
2. "Organization of Fire Safety."
The rules of candidates' selection to study at the Military Training Department are prepared due to the requirements of the Law of Ukraine "On higher education", the Law of Ukraine "On military duty and military service", Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine "On approval of the military training program for reserve officers" from February 1, 2012 number 48, and the Regulations on military training units at higher educational institutions approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine from August 15, 2013 number 1190/560, Instruction on organizing of military training of citizens, approved by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
Military training of citizens is planned and carried out within one school day per week (the method of "military day") during two years of study.
Citizens who have received higher education (the educational level not lower than bachelor degree and passed the theoretical and practical military training, are involved in the reservist training on the base of military units. The duration of the training is 30 days.
After the reservist training everyone have to pass the final exam and to take the military oath.
After completing the full course of military training and certification of officers to the order of the Minister of Defence of Ukraine citizens got their initial rank of second lieutenant of the reserve.
